There are more and more people enjoying the game of Sudoku every day. The reason why people find it worthy is because the Sudoku game can help you fill up your time whenever you have a couple of spare minutes and feel like exercising your thinking power.
Sudoku (sometimes spelled as »Su Doku«) is a puzzle game that originates from Japan. Some people also call this puzzle as a »placement« puzzle, in the United States for example, Sudoku is also known as the »Number Place« puzzle.
The puzzles difficulty range from very easy for the beginners to extremely difficult for more advanced Sudoku solvers. It is therefore a great way of keeping your brains active and thinking and you can easily take it with you wherever you go. It will keep you busy and active while waiting for your bus to arrive for example.
Is Sudoku hard to learn and understand?
Well, not really. Sudoku is really easy to learn and understand!
What you have to do is enter a number from 1 to 9 into each cell on the Sudoku puzzle grid. The most common layout of this puzzle game is a 9x9 grid that is made of 3x3 subgrids. These subgrids are known as »regions«. Depending on the difficulty of the puzzle, there will be different starting numbers in the cells also known as the »givens«.
Every row, column and region of the Sudoku puzzle can contain only one instance of each number. When all of the cells in the puzzle have been filled in with corresponding number, the Sudoku is solved!
The patience and the ability to think logically will help you at completing the Sudoku puzzles. The layout of the Sudoku grid looks a lot like a chess game or crossword puzzles, but Sudoku is not only a mathematical or arithmetic type of puzzle, it also works if you substitute the numbers with letters or other symbols. Regardless of that, it works best with the numbers.
To sum it up, the game of Sudoku is a fascinating puzzle game that has taken the world by storm. You can find these games in many national newspapers and magazines, and the best thing about Sudoku is that the basic logic of solving it is really simple:
All you need to do is fill in the grid in such way that each row column and region containts the numbers from 1 to 9.
